Hello everyone, this is Mr. Jones writing.

Today was an "easy" day: students received their vocabulary words and definitions (the test for these words is on Friday!).  Apologies to the 5th period students that were in class yesterday: you were given the wrong list.  The silver lining is that you got to learn/re-learn some additional vocabulary so stop complaining     :D.




HW:  Study your vocabulary words; turn in your persuasive essay/project if you have not already done so; return your "Glory Field" novels; return your Literature book that was assigned to you at the beginning of the school year.

Friday's Blog, June 1st

Mr. Jones writing here!  Sorry for not having a post here in some time.  We had some issues with some students in the handling of the blog and it was shut down for awhile.  Hopefully we will be posting every day for the rest of the year.  If you were absent, it is your responsibility to check with me or one of your classmates regarding missing assignments.

Today was a short day due to the performance of "The Wizard of Oz"!!  WOW!!  I am so impressed with what our students accomplish----absolutely incredible.  Lots of laughs and drama too!  "THANK YOU" to every one who helped, even in the smallest way.

Today I collected the Reading Journals, 15.1 - 15.4 (Monday was a holiday, so no 15.5).  I also collected the Persuasive Essay/Projects.  If you didn't turn in any of this work, please get it turned in a.s.a.p.

We also took the second vocabulary test of the semester.  If you were absent, it is your responsibility to arrange a time with me to make it up.

Please return your "Glory Field" books as well as you textbooks that Ms. Nakada assigned to you at the beginning of the year!!  That's it for now....see you on Monday!!

Soo Mr. Jones wanted me to do the blog. I don't want to do the blog. Jonathan was dancing like a weirdo. He said he wanted to be in the America's Best Dance Crew lol! Maria H. lost her voice. Sebastian is like the meanest person ever!<--Jk He's awesome! The class is suppose to do make up work and stuff. At lunch Nestor almost past out. People said that he did but he didn't. Isaac Coto WON 1st place! I knew it! Uggh i have Ms. Shanley next. I don't feel like going. I want school to be over already. The day before yesterday Luis said he was going to work at the 99 cent store to get discounts lol. Naomi, sorry but i didn't watch the Tupac video. I really don't know when I'm going to watch it.  the bells about to ring and yeaah! BYE! <3 :p

So now mr jones decided to re-start the blog but now he chooses the blogger so he picked me ugh. We just finished a vocab test and it was pretty easy. Now mr jones is giving us some more information on our pursuasive essay. We are going to continue the movie we were watching the other day..the movie seems wierd.all right that was all for today bye.

The story we read was "The Fun They Had" and it was a futuristic story written by Isaac Asimov.  It took place in the year 2155 and the plot centered around the idea that one day "teachers" would be present in each home and students would be educated there.  The "teacher" was actually a computer.  The story was written in approximately 1970, which makes the story quite extraordinary, given that on-line courses are quite the norm these days.  "The fun they had" is a comment made by a young girl who tried to imagine what it was like going somewhere else, other than home, to learn and be with other children.

No new HW was assigned.  RJ's, Glory Field packets, Glory Field quiz, etc are due/will be given on Monday the 14th, as there is no Period 5 on Friday.  Adios!

Well I've been picked to do the blog  -_-*(ByDiana). Mr.Jones just banned "One Direction" from the blog most of us rejoice in happiness.<<<< NOOOO :) Mr.Jones is talking about how we could make a good impression on him   and how we could work on our "Glory Field" junk. So glad I'm done with the book which isn"t all that     bad after the beginning. Well not much is going on. Jayden has just been told not to arm wrestle (speaking of arm wrestling me and david need a rematch). Sigh I'm bored and realisticly have nothing to do. Note to Sebastian watch "The Avengers"!!!Also Sebastian stop reading you do that too much.
